Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly hails from North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. With a passion for family law, Ashley's current legal practice focuses on various aspects of family law. She concentrates her practice on divorce cases, alimony matters, marital property division, child custody battles and child support arrangements. She also handles post-divorce enforcement and post-divorce issues, step-parent adoptions and private party adoptions as well as concerns about child welfare. In addition to family law, Ashley also handles estate planning issues, such as probate, wills, trusts, and estate administration, as well as commercial contracts, civil litigation cases. Ashley has been a court-appointed mediator since 2019. She helps parties resolve their disputes without the need for court or litigation involvement. Ashley mediates private cases as well as court-appointed mediation for individuals who want to stay clear of litigation and court processes.

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. She continued her legal education through Western New England University School of Law. Graduating in 2013, she excelled academically, ranking among the top 10 students in her class. Ashley was an editor at the Western New England Law Review during her time in law school. This demonstrates her dedication to legal research and scholarship.

After completing her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship journey, working for distinguished jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She was fortunate enough to serve as a law assistant to the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. In 2014, she returned to Hagerstown, Maryland, to work as an attorney for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. In 2015, Ashley joined the esteemed law firm of Poole & Kane, P.A. as an associate attorney. Her main focus within the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services in matters dealing with child welfare. Ashley's dedication to her work played a significant role in helping children who were victims of in the face of neglect or abuse at hands their parents or caregivers. Her dedication to social justice spanned far beyond the legal realm as she was active as a board member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force working tirelessly to raise awareness about human trafficking in the tri-state area.

In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the fields of family law such as divorce, custody, child support and guardianships - as well as estate planning, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directive/healthcare proxies and mediation.

Ashley started Wilburn Law Office, LLC 2023 with the aim of providing an individual approach to every client's need.
